About

The Natural Pool

Overview

The natural pool looks like a pond, surrounded by a planting system. It blends seamlessly into your garden, enhancing the look of your backyard. With plants and wildlife running along the borders, the natural pool complements and beautifies the landscape.

How It Works

Water is filtered by a 2-part regeneration zone, made up of gravel beds and underwater plants. The water is filtered as it passes through the gravel, creating a habitat for the bio-organisms to live. Nutrients are removed from the water by underwater plants. A 1:1 ratio between the pool and regeneration zone is ideal. So if you want a full-sized pool, you’ll need a little space.

experience the Difference

Naturally filtered vs. conventional is basically living vs. dead. Conventional pools are dead water.
Chlorine kills everything that touches the water. Natural and living pools are living water.

Why Go With A BioTop Natural pool?

Most frequent questions and answers

Minimal maintenance is a big plus for living pools. Since water is purified without chlorine, biofilm may appear on the pool’s walls. You can easily remove this with a pool robot.
Maintaining a natural pool takes more work since you’re essentially maintaining an underwater
garden. If you have the time or help, go for it. Even then you don’t need to worry about pH
balancing, chemical filtration and numerous other chores of keeping your pool clean.

Naturally filtered pools are the closest thing you’ll get to swimming in nature. So you may think that naturally they’re the perfect place for mosquitoes and other pests to grow. Thankfully, this is just a myth. When you have moving water, like natural and living pools do, water striders and other enemies of mosquitoes show up. And they keep the mosquito larva in check.

You can get a heat exchanger installed in your living pool. Perfect way to enjoy warm water up to
26°C. You also have other options to beat the cold, like getting a pool cover. Yes, you also get this
with a conventional pool. But it’s worth pointing out that naturally filtered pools don’t lack this
feature. Don’t think you’ll be left at the mercy of nature with natural pools – swim in a comfortable temperature.

Natural pools recreate the experience of swimming in nature in your own backyard. The plants
lend an amazing aesthetic to your landscape. And the absence of chlorine keeps your swim
irritation free. Inviting nature to your back door, the pools are great for both adults and kids. Whether you want to host a barbecue, or kick back and watch dragonflies play across the pool’s surface, the natural pool is the perfect place for it. The presence of plant and absence of chemicals are two big qualities that owners of natural pools are looking for.

Whether or not you’re going for that green, pond-like look, natural pools are green i.e. eco-friendly Conventional pools need chemicals that can damage the environment.

Natural pools are quite adaptable. At first you might get a mental image of a muddy looking pond. But most pools are filled with concrete. And you can even have your natural pool look like a
conventional pool. Just have the gravel filter hidden and/or placed underground.
You can also mimic the setting of a natural pond, complete with plant, rocks and boulders. You just don’t get this level of flexibility with a conventional pool.
